Provide me survival security and freedom and I am happy

Provide me survival security and freedom and I am happy. These thoughts came to my brain followed by a recognition that those were the two variables that could exist in my life that would allow me to flow into a state of fulfillment and maintain that fulfillment throughout the scope of my lifetime. Are survival security and freedom not the pursuit of happiness manifest?

A key aspect that serves as a prerequisite for the evolvement of this societal structure, one that evidences an ability to provide survival security and freedom over time, is a sustained environment of gratitude that lives on in the atmosphere of the people. How do we do this when gratitude is harbored behind the veil of religion, and religion as it is known in its institutional form, grows outdated in practical application?

These are broad terms. Survival security and freedom. I think the feeling of what these terms imply must be understood before constructing any taxonomy of tangible manifestation. That is, a plan for phased implementation over time consensually decreed by the collective.

When I refer to survival security, I refer to an emotional state that does not experience survival anxiety in it’s day-to-day life. It does not wonder or fear paying rent, paying utilities, receiving healthcare, going to school, eating food, taking care of children, or having transportation. This list is by no means comprehensive or deeply elaborated upon.

When I refer to freedom, I refer to the freedom of consciousness to think and develop. To not be clouded by emotional preoccupation with the day-to-day. Paradoxically, the definition or belief around freedom in the modern day rests upon the repression and exclusion of the aspects that would actually enable it to exist – those being the factors listed above that provide survival security and liberate the individual from survival anxiety. Freedom is an emotional state for consciousness to exist without the weight of environmental strain or over-consumption with labor. In this state, the individual can authentically grow and pursue fulfillment by measure of their own standards. Freedom, then, can also be understood as contingent on the restructuring and redefining of how labor determines itself and who exercises the control over the object of labor’s effort. In the present, does labor truly have selection power and comfort in how they choose to contribute their time; that being, their life? Is there consensus decision-making structured from the ground up that enables sustainable, self-reinforcing control of labor over the constructs of the environment that surrounds them?

Should freedom not provide a state of labor wherein the individual contributes, yet does not contribute so intensely that it defines their worth and therefore corners them into a state of repressing their own development in order to live for the materialized desire of another? Especially in a state where the other can project compromised ethics yet still demand the repression of the laborer’s self for the fulfillment of their objective, and the laborer maintains limited ability to say no because their environmental structure provides them little in terms of selection power? How does such a state influence collective development?

The future holds freedom. Let us think through what this reality would look like: what businesses survive? How does the business redefine itself? Where does a sense of individualism come from? How do competition and success redefine themselves? These are significant questions. How do they all map together?
